3.1A compliance calendar for your building

Most of the electrical checks a business needs run on a regular cycle. Keeping them on one contractor, and on one calendar, makes it much harder for anything to lapse.

3.2Planning work around trading

  • Agree which areas can lose power, and when
  • Plan noisy or disruptive work outside opening hours where possible
  • Keep fire alarms and emergency lighting working throughout
  • Get certificates and test records handed over when the job is done

3.3Records you should keep

Insurers, landlords and fire safety inspectors may ask to see your electrical test certificates, fire alarm service records and emergency lighting logbook. Keep them together and up to date.
